DRUID THEATRE Company has announced its four artists for this year's FUEL residency - Tara Breathnach, Mags Keohane, Elaine Mears, and Sarah-Jane Scott - all of whom are based in Galway.

TWO LOCALLY-devised works in progress proved big hits with Tuesday’s Galway Theatre Festival audiences - Conor Geoghegan’s Invisible at Nuns Island and Elaine Mears’ Una at the Mick Lally Theatre. Both are already strong pieces of theatre and certainly whetted the appetite to see them in their finished forms.

THE PROGRAMME for this year’s Galway Theatre Festival, which runs from May 4 to 12, was revealed on Monday evening at a thronged launch in Biteclub on Abbeygate Street. Once again festival director Máiréad Ní Chróinín and her team have assembled a top-notch line-up of shows and ancillary events, guaranteed to entertain, surprise, delight and inspire.

Two talented Mayo artists were selected to participate in a recent Macnas Engineers of Imagination initiative. The programme, sponsored by Bank of Ireland, saw 10 of Ireland’s most exciting emerging visual artists brought to Galway for a month-long programme.
